A Word or Two from Ms. Griffiths....
I LOVED math as a kid and try to convey that love to my students. I also tell them that MATH is one of the most important things they need to learn if they want to have $$$ to buy the things they want and need when they get older. :)

We use Moby Max Math as the major intervention tool here at DGS. It is a great program accessed on the internet that tests each student on their individual knowledge and assigns lessons on the things they haven't mastered in their current and previous grade levels. They can access this program for free at home with their school login.

I also use a lot of You Tube Videos as a fun additional way of presenting math concepts. Manipulatives and worksheets are also used. I love when my students start gaining confidence in themselves with math!

One of the most important things in my opion that a parent can do to help their child be successful in math is to help them memorize their math facts. Addition and Subtraction facts should be mastered in 1st and 2nd grade. Multiplication and Division facts should be mastered in 3rd and 4th grade, Not knowing these facts fluently interferes with many other process in Math.
